Bret is the host of Sporting Journal Radio, heard on 30 stations across the midwest. He is a Waterfowl guide and hunts with Mid Migration Outfitters. and hosts and produces “Tazin TV” from Tazin Lake Lodge in northwest Saskatchewan. Recently he was host of Northland Outdoors TV and Radio and provided stories and photos for Northland Outdoors Magazine and Website.
His articles can be found on the Forum Communications Network of Newspapers.
After being nominated for an Upper Midwest Emmy as host of Prairie Sportsman TV in 2018 and 2019, He was awarded an Emmy in 2020. The show broadcasts to Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Iowa on the Minnesota PBS stations.
2021 Winner of 17 Award in Craft awards for his work in photography, podcasts and videography from the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers.
He is nominated once again for an Upper Midwest Emmy in 2021 for hosting the popular outdoor show, Prairie Sportsman.
Bret is currently the voice of “The Next Bite” on the Discovery Channel, created a video series from a “Sitka Whites Road Trip” that chronicled a road trip from Minnesota to Texas.

Eric was born and raised at the heart of South Dakota’s Glacial Lakes Region. Hunting and fishing not only became an important part of his life, but a passion at a very young age. Having traveled to fishing tournaments across the upper Midwest, he was exposed to many levels and angling experiences. Walleyes top the open-water list of chased fish while South Dakota jumbo perch are his favorite winter target. Live Bait rigging and casting shorelines are favorite open water techniques.
Eric’s passion for the great outdoors has transitioned from fishing alone, to sharing his knowledge with others through published articles, instructional video clips, guiding, and helping our youth develop a passion and knowledge to be an ethical sportsman. Eric currently resides near Big Stone Lake with his wife Kristyanna, and two sons, Braxton and Graham. He spends much of his time between Big Stone Lake and his residence at Whitlock’s Bay on Lake Oahe; enjoying a multitude of year-round fishing opportunities.
